As outlined in October 2022, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency expects around mid‑2024 to issue the EIA‑permit (§25 of the Danish Environmental Assessment Act) for the land‑based part of the Hesselø project, covering the onshore grid connection including the export cable landfall at Gilbjerg Hoved, a new high‑voltage station near Pårup, and onshore cables to the existing Hovegård substation. Issuance of this permit is contingent on the EIA process demonstrating that the land‑based works can be carried out.
