In November 2011, Offshore Marine Services’ German arm reported that it had stored 15 drums of export cable and associated accessories at its Nordenham facility for the Siemens Energy and Prysmian Powerlink consortium responsible for the HelWin1 cable system, noting that the cables would be taken out of storage in 2012 when the HelWin1 and BorWin2 projects commenced installation. This indicated that the start of HelWin1’s export cable installation campaign was planned for 2012, following this advance logistics and storage phase.
