Onshore Construction Start

Statnett stated that construction of the new Hadselfjorden cable system, including approximately 1.2 km of underground cable from Melbu transformer station on Hadseløya and a subsea section of about 9.3 km across Hadselfjorden to a new landfall at Vedvika on Fiskebøl, was scheduled to start in 2021, provided a licence was granted in spring 2020. The project plan also includes demolition of existing cable infrastructure between the old landfall and socket housing and restoration of the area to nature after the new connection is built.
