npower renewables commissioned the Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies Ltd (CMACS) to carry out the marine ecology Environmental Impact Assessment for the Gwynt y Môr project, involving literature review and targeted site-specific surveys of water and sediment quality, conservation areas, and marine species such as benthic invertebrates, plankton, fish and marine mammals across Liverpool Bay and the wider eastern Irish Sea; the resulting baseline and impact assessment, completed for inclusion in npower renewables’ 2005 Environmental Statement, mapped key ecological constraints for the project.
