The Gwynt y Môr project, including its offshore substations, export cables and associated infrastructure, received environmental approval from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on 3 December 2008, clearing the way for construction of the 576 MW offshore wind farm and its grid connection to proceed.
