Gwynt y Môr OFTO plc awarded Sumitomo Electric Industries a contract to supply new 132 kV offshore export cable for the Gwynt y Môr offshore transmission system, which connects the 576 MW wind farm around 15 km off the North Wales coast to the onshore grid. The contract aims to enhance the reliability and availability of the OFTO’s power transmission assets following earlier export cable issues.
