On 17 January 2002, Thales Geosolutions deployed two Valeport 730D current and wave meters near Gunfleet Sands for Enron Wind Gunfleet Ltd as part of an oceanographic measurement programme integral to the project’s Environmental Impact Assessment, initiating a six‑month campaign to record currents, tidal levels, directional wave parameters and turbidity around the proposed offshore wind farm site.
