The Egypt–Greece GREGY interconnector is planned to reach initial energisation by 2027–2028, with the subsea HVDC double cable (around 954 km, 3,000 MW capacity) expected to be ready for electrification so it can begin transmitting renewable electricity from Egypt to Greece and the EU market.
