Baltic Cable AB and Equitix completed the full acquisition of the Greenlink Interconnector from Partners Group on or about 25 July 2025, following the sale agreement announced on 17 March 2025 valuing the 504 MW subsea HVDC link at over EUR 1 billion. The transaction concluded the change of control over the Ireland–Wales asset, which had entered commercial operation in early 2025 under Partners Group's stewardship. Greenlink is Baltic Cable AB's first investment outside its Sweden–Germany home market, complementing its existing role as TSO and sole owner of the Baltic Cable interconnector; Equitix joined as co-investor on the asset. Following closing, ownership and asset-management responsibilities transferred from Partners Group to the Baltic Cable/Equitix consortium, while EirGrid (Ireland) and National Grid (GB) continued to provide network counterparty services. The acquirers stated the investment was aligned with their strategy to support European market integration, security of supply and the integration of renewable generation between the Irish and British power systems.
