As part of the EPC award, the Siemens Energy / Sumitomo Electric consortium was contracted to deliver Greenlink’s onshore and subsea HVDC cable systems. The EPC scope explicitly included the subsea and underground cable works for the circa 190 km interconnector linking Great Island (Wexford) and Pembroke (Pembrokeshire), with Sumitomo Electric (a cable manufacturer) named as part of the awarded consortium.
