Offshore cable installation works for Greenlink began in October 2023 when the project’s cable‑laying campaign commenced in the Irish Sea. The EPC contractor consortium (Siemens Energy / Sumitomo Electric) engaged Jan De Nul to install the subsea sections; Jan De Nul’s cable‑laying vessel Connector started the initial offshore installation from the Welsh coast towards the middle of the Irish Sea.
