On 16 December 2024, Aker Solutions and ABB were awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Green Volt floating offshore wind project offshore Scotland. Under this first FEED phase, Aker Solutions will lead design of the high-voltage offshore substation, overall electrical system integration for supplying nearby oil and gas assets and the UK mainland, and associated onshore high-voltage equipment, including jacket substructure design and transport and installation planning, supporting Vårgrønn and Flotation Energy in progressing the project towards construction.
