On 3 September 2024, the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero announced that the Green Volt floating offshore wind project had secured a Contract for Difference (CfD) in Allocation Round 6, awarding 400 MW of its planned 560 MW capacity at a strike price of £139.93/MWh (2012 prices). This CfD award, described as making Green Volt Europe’s largest floating offshore wind project, provides a long‑term revenue support mechanism underpinning the project’s development and future financing.
