Eunice Energy Group, leading the Greece–Africa Power (GAP) Interconnector consortium between Greece and Egypt, signed a memorandum of understanding with McDermott to cooperate on the 2 GW GAP electrical interconnection, under which McDermott will provide engineering and construction guidance for the subsea and deepwater scope. The partners present the MoU as a strategically important step to advance the project’s development and support regional energy security by enabling clean power transfers between Egypt and Europe via Greece.
The Greece-Africa Power (GAP) Interconnector, a 2,000 MW subsea HVDC link between Egypt’s north Mediterranean coast and Crete with onward connection to Attica, promoted by Eunice Group/GAP Interconnector S.M.S.A., is included in ENTSO‑E’s 2022 Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP). This listing recognises the project as part of the planned pan-European transmission development over the next 10–20 years and highlights its role in enabling bidirectional clean electricity exchanges between Egypt and Greece.

Asso.subsea and the GAP Consortium, led by Eunice Energy Group, signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the 2 GW Greece-Africa Power (GAP) Interconnector between Greece and Egypt. Under the agreement, Asso.subsea will contribute its expertise in submarine cable installation, protection, repair and related engineering to support design and construction guidance for the planned subsea interconnector, strengthening the international consortium advancing the project.
