Three 45.5 km 132 kV export cables from the Greater Gabbard offshore substations to shore and a 16 km 132 kV inter-platform cable, supplied and installed under the Greater Gabbard Offshore Transmission Assets balance of plant contract.
Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds Ltd appointed Fluor Ltd as the single turnkey balance of plant contractor for the Greater Gabbard Offshore Transmission Assets. Under this contract Fluor was responsible for the engineering, procurement and installation of two offshore substations, three 132 kV three-core export cables of 45.5 km each from the platforms to shore, a 16 km 132 kV inter-platform cable between the Inner Gabbard and Galloper substations, the three 0.59 km 132 kV onshore cable sections to the Leiston substation, and the onshore substation itself. The scope covered the full design and construction of the HVAC transmission system that connects the 504 MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm to National Grid’s 132 kV network at Leiston.
