Construction of the Greater Gabbard offshore submarine cables began in October 2009 as part of the overall offshore construction programme, which commenced around one month later than originally planned. Fluor, as principal contractor, managed the installation of three 45.5 km 132 kV export cables from the Inner Gabbard and Galloper offshore substations to shore and a 16 km 132 kV inter-platform cable, with Prysmian as cable subcontractor.
