In Ofgem’s 2009 assessment of the Greater Gabbard transmission assets, Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds Ltd planned for construction of the offshore submarine cables—three 45.5 km 132 kV export cables to shore and the 16 km 132 kV inter-platform cable—to start in summer 2009 alongside offshore substation construction.
