The onshore grid connection for the Greater Gabbard transmission system at Leiston 132 kV substation was completed on 8 April 2010, when GGOWL was able to close their circuit breakers to provide a backfeed to the compound. This was 189 days behind the original October 2009 plan, delayed by a flashover on NGET Leiston 132 kV switchboard during commissioning in January 2010.
