During the planning phase following the December 2005 decision to proceed with the Great Belt Power Link, Energinet.dk conducted stakeholder consultations as part of the Danish regulatory process, engaging local authorities, environmental groups, fishing industries and energy market participants to address concerns about construction timelines, operational reliability and environmental impacts along the Fraugde–Herslev route across the Great Belt. These consultations were carried out in parallel with environmental assessments required under Danish law and EU environmental impact assessment directives.
