1983Commercial Operations Full Power

In 1983, the second HVDC link Gotland 2 was constructed between Västervik on the Swedish mainland and Ygne on Gotland, rated at 150 kV with a capacity of 130 MW; this additional link allowed the Slite oil-fired power station and diesel sets in Visby to cease regular operation and be relegated to reserve capacity, indicating that Gotland 2 was in full operational use.
