PNE WIND AG, the original developer of the Gode Wind II offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, secured a turbine supply contract as part of fulfilling conditions for an unconditional grid connection agreement with TenneT. The company submitted to the transmission system operator a signed contract covering the delivery of 84 Vestas V112 wind turbines, each rated at 3 MW, for the planned approximately 250 MW project. This contract, alongside other technical and permitting documentation, was required by the German Federal Network Agency’s criteria for maintaining the project’s grid connection rights and enabling a planned construction start in 2012. Although the project was later reconfigured under new ownership, this marked the first formal turbine supplier selection for the Gode Wind II concept.
