In mid‑May 2016, DONG Energy (now Ørsted) installed the last wind turbine on the Gode Wind offshore project, completing turbine installation across Gode Wind 1 and Gode Wind 2. The combined development comprises 97 Siemens 6 MW turbines with a total capacity of 582 MW, located in the German North Sea. Following installation of the final unit, all 97 turbines were in place and mechanical erection for both wind farms was complete, with full operation of the two projects planned for the summer of 2016. DONG Energy, holding a 50% stake in each project and responsible for operations and maintenance, led the construction and noted that Gode Wind 1 and 2 would provide enough green power for around 600,000 German households.
