Substation Supplier Selected

For the original Gode Wind II development, PNE WIND AG concluded a preliminary contract with ALSTOM Grid GmbH to supply the offshore wind farm’s transformer substation. This agreement covered the main electrical hub that would collect power from the 84 planned Vestas turbines and interface with the grid export system. Together with contracts for turbines, monopile foundations and internal array cabling, the ALSTOM Grid substation contract was submitted to TenneT as part of the documentation needed to secure an unconditional grid connection commitment, satisfying German Federal Network Agency requirements and underpinning plans to commence construction in 2012.
