Offshore Construction Start

Offshore construction of the 252 MW Gode Wind 2 offshore wind farm began in April 2015. DONG Energy, the project developer (now Ørsted), reports that construction of Gode Wind 2 started with the first installation works at sea in that month. The project is located in the German part of the North Sea, around 45 km off the north‑western coast of Germany and is being built together with the neighbouring Gode Wind 1 wind farm to capture synergies and reduce costs. These initial offshore works marked the transition from development into the physical construction phase for Gode Wind 2, ahead of subsequent foundation, turbine, and cable installation campaigns.
