By late February 2011, PNE WIND AG had submitted to transmission system operator TenneT all documentation required for a binding, unconditional grid connection agreement for the Gode Wind II offshore wind farm. The submission fulfilled all four criteria laid down in the German Federal Network Agency’s position paper for maintaining an unconditional grid connection commitment. The package included the supply contract for 84 Vestas V112 wind turbines and preliminary contracts for 84 monopile foundations, internal array cabling, and the offshore transformer substation. Meeting these requirements created the basis for TenneT to later issue an unconditional grid connection agreement specifying the connection date and allowed project development to proceed towards a planned construction start in 2012.
