In November 2013, Ørsted (then DONG Energy) awarded Bladt Industries a contract to fabricate 97 offshore foundations for the Gode Wind 1 and Gode Wind 2 wind farms in the German North Sea. The scope covered monopiles and associated transition pieces for both projects, including those serving the 252 MW Gode Wind 2 array. Fabrication was assigned to Bladt’s Aalborg facility in Denmark. This major award secured the primary steel foundation supplier for the combined 582 MW development and underpinned the planned construction schedule ahead of offshore works starting in 2015.
