To advance the original Gode Wind II project toward construction and secure an unconditional grid connection commitment from TenneT, PNE WIND AG agreed preliminary terms with MT Højgaard A/S for the supply of 84 monopile foundations. These preliminary contracts formed part of a package of documents submitted to the transmission system operator, alongside turbine, cabling and substation contracts, and demonstrated that the developer had concrete arrangements in place for the main structural works offshore. Meeting these requirements satisfied Federal Network Agency criteria and was cited as a key step toward enabling a planned 2012 construction start for the Gode Wind II offshore wind farm.
