By early July 2015, all foundations for the Gode Wind 2 offshore wind farm had been installed. GeoSea completed installation of all 42 monopile positions assigned to Gode Wind 2 and had also begun installing monopiles for Gode Wind 1. The works used IHC IQIP’s Hydrohammer S‑3000 and the newly developed NMS‑8000 together with a big bubble curtain to ensure compliance with German underwater noise legislation. The monopiles had diameters of 7.5 metres, with the largest being 67 metres long and weighing well over 900 tonnes, at the time the biggest and heaviest monopile ever installed in the German North Sea. This milestone concluded the foundation phase for Gode Wind 2 and prepared the site for subsequent turbine installation.
