Gode Wind 2 entered full commercial operation in 2017 following completion and commissioning of the Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind cluster in the German North Sea. Multiple sources report that the 330 MW Gode Wind 1 and 252 MW Gode Wind 2 projects, using 97 Siemens 6 MW turbines in total, were officially commissioned and inaugurated in June 2017. From this point, the wind farms have been fully operational, exporting their combined 582 MW capacity to the German grid, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 600,000 households. Investor AIP notes that Gode Wind 2 reached commercial operation in 2017, confirming the transition from construction and testing into sustained, full‑power operation.
