On 3 June 2019, The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) announced it had exchanged contracts to acquire a 25% indirect equity interest in the 330 MW Gode Wind 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. The stake is being purchased from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) as part of GIP’s divestment of its 50% holding in the project. Following completion, Gode Wind 1 is expected to represent about 8% of TRIG’s portfolio. Ørsted, which developed and constructed the wind farm and provides long-term operations and maintenance under a 20‑year contract, continues to own 50% of Gode Wind 1. The remaining portion of GIP’s former interest is held by another institutional investor, while Gode Wind 1 continues to operate using 55 Siemens Gamesa 6 MW turbines.
