In August 2012, DONG Energy (now Ørsted) acquired the development rights for three German offshore wind projects, including the Gode Wind 1 offshore wind farm, from PNE Wind AG. The package of projects, of which Gode Wind 1 and 2 form a part, was purchased for a total consideration of EUR 157 million. This transaction transferred control of Gode Wind 1, a planned 330 MW offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, from the original developer PNE Wind to DONG Energy, enabling DONG/Ørsted to take the projects forward through construction and operation using its offshore wind expertise.
