In the third quarter of 2015, Bladt Industries completed fabrication of all 97 transition pieces for the Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind farms at its Aalborg yard. The full batch of heavy steel structures, including the 55 units for Gode Wind 1, was finalised and ready for the last round of offshore installation. Each transition piece features a diameter of about 6 metres, a height of around 30 metres and weighs well over 500 tonnes. Bladt reported that the project was completed ahead of the original schedule thanks to strong cooperation with DONG Energy (now Ørsted) and GeoSea, ensuring timely foundation installation for the German North Sea projects.
