GEO completed the geotechnical site investigations for the projected Gode Wind I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. Working from the vessel Blue Alfa, the company carried out 77 deep cone penetration tests (CPTs) across the site, located about 40 kilometres off the German coast, west of Cuxhaven. These investigations provided detailed information on seabed and subsurface soil conditions needed to support the future design of turbine foundations and other structures. At the time of completion, the project, then owned by PNG WIND AG, had already received approval from the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH), with plans for up to 80 turbines and a potential capacity of up to 400 MW.
