In November 2013, Ørsted (then DONG Energy) awarded Bladt Industries the contract to supply the offshore foundations for the Gode Wind 1 and 2 projects in the German North Sea. The scope covers 97 foundations, consisting of monopiles and transition pieces, for the combined 608 MW development. The 97 transition pieces were split between the two wind farms, with 55 destined for Gode Wind 1 and 42 for Gode Wind 2. All transition pieces have a diameter of around 6 metres, a height of approximately 30 metres and individual weights well above 500 tonnes. Fabrication was to be carried out at Bladt’s Aalborg facility in Denmark, supporting subsequent offshore installation campaigns.
