On 4 February 2014, DONG Energy (now Ørsted) and Nexans Deutschland signed a supplementary contract for the delivery and installation of medium‑voltage inter‑array cables for the Gode Wind 1 and 2 offshore wind farms. The order for the Gode Wind projects comprises approximately 140 km of 34 kV offshore cables, which connect individual turbines to each other and to the offshore transformer platform. The contract forms part of a broader framework agreement covering up to 900 km of internal farm cabling for several DONG Energy projects. The Gode Wind 1 and 2 development, totalling 582 MW, is located off the Lower Saxony coast and is intended to supply power to around 600,000 German homes.
