Offshore Marine Services (OMS), described as the German arm of Offshore Marine Management, won a contract from Wetfeet Offshore Windenergy GmbH to support delivery of the Global Tech 1 offshore wind park in the German North Sea. The appointment was reported on 22 December 2011 and related to the construction and installation phase of the project, which was planned to be completed in 2013. Under the contract, OMS was tasked with assisting and supplementing the Global Tech 1 management team to help ensure safe and timely execution of offshore works. The scope was framed as “marine installation services”, with OMS providing additional senior management staff as well as offshore client representatives and technical personnel. These resources were to be deployed directly in support of the construction of the wind park, strengthening the owner’s/contracting organisation’s on-site capability and oversight. The role was therefore primarily a project and construction management support engagement rather than a supply contract for physical components. OMS’s contribution focused on augmenting leadership, client representation and technical staffing to support installation activities, coordination and execution performance on the Global Tech 1 Offshore Wind Park.
