As part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for the 400 MW Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, a full mandatory EIA including public consultation was carried out in line with Annex II of EIA Directive 85/337/EEC (as amended). The EIB project documentation notes that this public consultation was completed in accordance with national regulations before the Bank’s financing decision, forming part of the environmental due diligence to ensure that stakeholders had the opportunity to comment on potential impacts prior to permitting and financing approval.
