Germany’s federal network regulator, Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) through its Decision Chamber 6, issued decision BK6-14-127 on 23 March 2015 concerning the offshore wind farm Global Tech I. The proceeding addressed the relocation of the 400 MW grid connection capacity that had been assigned to the Global Tech I offshore wind installation. This formal decision adjusted how and where the project’s connection capacity was allocated on the offshore transmission system, within the framework of BNetzA’s procedures for assigning connection capacity on offshore grid links. The decision represents a regulatory grid-access milestone for Global Tech I, clarifying its connection capacity allocation in the German North Sea offshore grid regime.
