By October 2013, installation of the inter‑array cable system for Global Tech I was underway. Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH engaged Conbit to assist the cable‑pulling contractor Prysmian Group with pulling cables into the offshore substation, using temporary lift booms welded to the platform where the main deck crane lacked capacity. The cable‑laying vessel CS Sovereign, operated by Global Marine Systems, was installing 95 low‑voltage array cables totaling about 120km to connect all 80 turbines to the substation, with cables pulled through J‑tubes at the corners of the platform. This operational campaign followed an earlier 2011 contract under which Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke and Global Marine Systems were to manufacture and install more than 100km of medium‑voltage submarine array cables for Global Tech I.
