For the emergency replacement of the GJ1 interconnector, the vessel carrying the new cable departed Scandinavia and was scheduled to arrive at Greve de Lecq in Jersey on 3 October 2019 and Havelet Bay in Guernsey on 6 October 2019, ready for installation, with energisation and completion of burial works planned for early November 2019 to restore low-carbon electricity imports to the islands.
