In 2019 the Norwegian parliament approved the Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) for Johan Sverdrup phase 2, which includes the power-from-shore solution for the Utsira High area. This PDO underpins the 200 MW HVDC plant on the Johan Sverdrup P2 platform that supplies electricity to nearby fields including Gina Krog, Edvard Grieg, Ivar Aasen and the partly electrified Sleipner field centre, forming the basis of the Gina Krog electrification link to shore.
