On 16 December 2025, the State Office for Agriculture and Environment in Stralsund, Western Pomerania approved Skyborn Renewables’ permit application to amend the Gennaker offshore wind farm to 63 state‑of‑the‑art 15 MW‑class turbines with a maximum capacity of 976.5 MW. The state planning approval, handed over in Rostock, modifies earlier 2019 and 2024 consents for more numerous smaller turbines, raises the permitted capacity from 927.0 MW to 976.5 MW without enlarging the footprint, and enables Skyborn to proceed toward FID in summer 2026 and construction for commissioning in 2028.
