Turkey’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, via its General Directorate of Renewable Energy, announced the first candidate regions for the country’s inaugural offshore wind farm under the YEKA scheme, identifying the Gelibolu district in Çanakkale as one of the potential offshore wind power farm locations alongside Saros and Kıyıköy. This formally established Gelibolu as a prospective offshore wind development zone in the Sea of Marmara near the Dardanelles.
