Galloper export system consisting of two ~45 km subsea HVAC export cables between the offshore transformer station and the Suffolk coast, with Helix burying 1.2 km of cable ends at the offshore platform.
Helix Robotics Solutions provided subsea trenching and burial services on the Galloper Offshore Wind Farm project, including works on the export cables that form part of the Galloper OFTO. Using its T1200 jet trencher and associated ROV systems, Helix performed post-lay burial of sections of the two subsea export cables, each around 45 km in length, at the offshore substation ends. For the export system, Helix buried a combined 1,200 m of cable ends at the offshore transformer station to a target depth of 1.5 m, complementing earlier ploughing along the main route. This work formed part of a wider 133-day campaign in which Helix also buried 56 inter-array cables for the wind farm.
