On 10 January 2024, OX2 and Ingka Investments submitted a grid concession application to the Swedish Energy Market Inspectorate for the 400MW Galene offshore wind farm’s grid connection, covering the export system that will bring power ashore via up to five buried cables from the wind farm to a landfall north of Ringhals on the Väröhalvön, then onward to a new Ellevio transformer station.
OX2 and Ingka Investments signed a cooperation agreement with Swedish grid owner Ellevio and submitted applications for the grid connection of the 400 MW Galene offshore wind farm, defining the development of the Galene export connection to Ellevio’s onshore network. The applications cover a grid concession to the Energy Market Inspectorate, permission from the Ministry of Economy for laying submarine cables on the seabed, and a permit under the Environmental Code, enabling up to five electric export cables from the wind farm to a landfall north of Ringhals on the Väröhalvön, continuing to a new Ellevio transformer station, with all sea and land cables to be buried.
