In March 2023, bp was successful in its Innovation and Targeted Oil and Gas (INTOG) leasing round bid to develop the Flora floating offshore wind demonstrator, effectively securing a seabed lease option for this small-scale project. Flora, located east of Peterhead in Scottish waters, is being developed by the JERA Nex bp joint venture and is expected to have a potential generating capacity of approximately 50MW when complete.
