Description
Fingrid and Svenska Kraftnät awarded Vattenfall Services Nordic AB a contract worth around EUR 23 million to construct a 70 km high-voltage DC overhead line for the Fenno‑Skan 2 interconnector. Under this construction-phase contract, Vattenfall Services builds the onshore DC line in Sweden that connects the offshore HVDC submarine cable landfall to the inland Finnböle converter substation. The new 500 kV line forms the Swedish onshore section of the 800 MW Fenno‑Skan 2 link, enabling transmission from the Gulf of Bothnia landing point into the Swedish transmission grid and contributing to increased interconnection capacity and reduced transmission constraints between Sweden and Finland.
