Following an unexpected outage on the 800 MW Fenno-Skan 2 high-voltage submarine cable linking Finland and Sweden, Finland’s national grid operator Fingrid reported that the issue likely stemmed from a substation malfunction rather than damage to the undersea cable itself. After the disruption, Fingrid inspected the affected equipment and confirmed that the connection had been restored. The operator stated that, after restoration, commercial operation of the Fenno-Skan 2 interconnector would resume around midday, marking the return of the link to normal service following the early-morning interruption.
