EstLink 2 450 kV HVDC monopole interconnector with 145 km subsea cable, about 11 km underground DC cable in Estonia and a 14 km DC overhead line in Finland between Anttila converter station and Nikuviken cable terminal.
ETDE, a French company within the Bouygues group, received a construction contract from Fingrid in December 2010 to build the direct current overhead line on the Finnish side of the EstLink 2 interconnector. The scope comprised construction of approximately 14 km of 450 kV DC overhead line between the Anttila converter station and the Nikuviken cable terminal near Porvoo, including erection of towers and stringing of conductors. This work created the onshore transmission section linking the subsea cable landfall to the Finnish high-voltage grid and was executed during the main construction phase ahead of system testing in late 2013 and commercial operation of the 650 MW link in 2014.
