Construction of the EstLink 2 HVDC converter stations started in December 2011, initiating full-scale onshore works at the Püssi converter station in Estonia and the Anttila converter station in Finland. This milestone followed permitting and contract awards and signalled the transition from planning to major civil and installation activities at both ends of the link.
