For EstLink 2, offshore and nearshore site preparation was scheduled for summer 2012, comprising a pre-lay marine survey, horizontal directional drilling at the Estonian landfall, and potential rock clearance in nearshore areas. These activities were planned to ready the seabed and shore crossings before starting the subsea cable installation between Estonia and Finland.
